When we feel overwhelmed, frazzled, anxious, confused, hopeless, or stuck in our lives, in our ways of being or thinking - in relation to single events or a lifetime of experiences - life gets tough.

Therapy can help you explore other ways of being and behaving, it can help you create space so you can feel freer and more resilient in the expression of who you are.

Have a look below at what I can do for you and get in touch. I look forward to meeting you.

I work face to face and online via Zoom. I offer a warm, calm and confidential space where we can work together to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a creative and non-judgemental way. This means that you can use the time and space to tune into your body and mind, and discuss what is going on with you as honestly as you can.

As an integrative psychotherapist, l use different approaches to help us explore and frame how you feel and think. These are predominantly psychodynamic, body based and person-centered, meaning that our work is guided by your early life experiences, the physical and embodied expression of feelings and its impact on your nervous system, and the idea that you are the source of knowledge for what we are exploring as we feel and think together. I am a relational therapist, which means that I strive to be as present and honest as I can in my experience of what it's like to relate to you and use that as guiding information too in what we do. We move towards your goals, which can evolve during our work together, and we go at your own pace; it's important that you are aware that therapy can be challenging and requires commitment.

I work with issues to do with trauma, stress and anxiety, overwhelm, depression, and questions around identity and belonging, among others.

I tend to offer open-ended therapy, the length of our work together depending on what your needs are. We start with an initial consultation to help us determine whether we are able to work together and if we decide to go ahead we will see each other weekly for a 50 minute session at an agreed day and time until an appropriate end - defined and discussed between us.

I am bilingual and can also offer sessions in Portuguese. I am also fluent in French and would be able to work with people wanting to use both French and English in the sessions.

I have over 15 years of experience of working with people from different backgrounds, cultures and nationalities. I have experience of living in areas affected by conflict and of being an immigrant. This international perspective has fuelled my interest in what shapes our identity and and our sense of belonging.

I have been working as a therapist for almost a decade; I am interested in how emotions are felt and carried in the body and the lenses through which we interpret and give them meaning.

I believe that psychotherapy can facilitate a shift in the way we perceive our inner experiences in the context of our social and political structures, giving us a better understanding of who we are - with that comes the possibility of choice and agency, allowing for a bigger, more meaningful and fulfilling life.
